Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have blocked ears for 4 weeks. This also gives me a feeling of lightheadedness. My doctor looked in my ears and said it was full of white stuff. He gave me Augmentin for 7 days and a nasal spray for the next month. Should this cure it? What s the white stuff?
You have blockage of ears and dizziness which is mainly due to ear wax build up leading to otitis media. It could be due to eustachian tube dysfunction a well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you avoid touching or pricking ears with any sharp object. Take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion. Do warm saline gargles. You should apply dry hot compresses to the external ear. Consult ENT specialist again to rule out causes like an ear infection. The doctor may prescribe mucolytic agent and antibiotics course. Avoid excessive use of mobile from that side. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and oily, sharp and spicy food.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
