What Causes Ear Pain And Itching Sensation While Suffering From Blocked Ears?
I have blocked ears constantly. I can pop them by yawning, but then after 10 seconds, they are blocked again. I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist and he did several tests, pressure, hearing etc., Said hearing perfect, no discharge or infection, ears very clean. However said that I need to relax as I have over stretched the vestibular tube?? by yawning and swollering too much and now I need to relax so the tube can go back to normal. I have itchy ears inside and the noise from both ears is like amphlified and hearing is difficult when there is a lot of background noice. There is a constant humming sound from my ears. I am wondering how long does it take to go back to normal. I have no cold, no allergies, never had an ear ache in my life. My doctor has prescribed my valium to have a night to help with relaxation and sleep.

As per your query you have blocked ear the condition goes and come again and again while yawning . Well the symptoms you mention in query are clearly indication a condition known as eustachain tube dysfunction . Well there can be many reasons for eustachian tube dysfunction like upper respiratory track infection , sinusitis or post nasal drip . I would suggest you to :
- Take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion .
- Do warm saline gargles .
- Apply dry hot compresses to external ear .
Consult ENT specialist again to rule out causer like ear infection, meniere' disease or wax buildup . Doctor may prescribe mucolytic agent , decongestant and antibiotics . In some cases doctor may also give tubes to relieve the pressure which is common procedure .
