What Causes Ear Pain, Sore Throat And Pain In One Side Of Head?

Hi, My name is Michael and i have been having a problem for the last three days with my ear. It started as a mild ear ache and now its shooting throbbing pain through one side of my head. It also feels like i have a sore throat and it kind of hurts to eat or drink. Do you have an idea what this is?

Welcome in H.C.M.

In reference to your query regarding sore throat and pain in ear and headache.

your clinical history is in fovour of upper respiratory tract infection with reffered otalgia.

You are basically having sore throat and this had cused blocking of pharyngeal end of eustachian tube (eustachian tube dysfunction), once the tube is blocked there will develope headache, blocked and heavyness in ear with acut pain in ear). Now you may take-

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Steam inhalation / Nasal decongestion drops in nose.

3- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum) orally.

4- Anti histaminic.

Probably by above treatment you will get the response otherwise onsultation with ENT doctor will become necessary.
