What Causes Ear Pain While Treating Conjunctivitis And Sore Throat?

My son is 3 and is 38lbs. We were at his dr. Yesterday due to conjunctivitis and sore throat. He tested negative for step but his throat was red. Today he is complaining of a bad ear ache in his left ear and has a runny nose. The dr said his ears were fine yesterday. Could this be allergy or virus related? How can I sooth the pain for him?

Infection from throat can easily spread to middle ear via Eustachean tube. He might have either congestion or infection of middle ear as well. That's why he is having pain. Kindly get it evaluated and get it treated accordingly.
