What Causes Earlobe Swollen After Six Weeks Ofear Piercing?

My daughter got her ears pierced six weeks ago but yesterday she started complaining of one ear being sore. This morning the year lobe was very red and swollen. I took the earring out and it has been treated with antiseptic cream all day. The swelling has gone down a bit but earlobe is still red. Do I need to do anything else. It also bled quite a bit today.

In my opinion, continue applying the ointment, take anti inflammatory med and wait. Do not wear any earrings especially artificial ones. If worsens get an ent specialist/dermatologist opinion.
If you find boggy swelling or fluid like, start a course of antibiotics and get that drained.
