General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

i-pill is used to prevent unwanted pregnancy and is highly effective when used within 24 hours of unprotected sex but its effectiveness slowly drops thereafter. However, it this is not a regular method of contraception.

Irregular uterine bleeding is a common side effect of i-pill along with nausea, vomiting, lower abdominal pain, fatigue, headache and giddiness. Hence, it is always safe to use other methods of contraception like condoms (male and female), diaphragms, cervical caps, IUD's, or other hormonal methods.

Kindly take opinion of a gynecologist for further queries.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks.
