What Causes Early Menstruation Upon Intake Of Evital Contraceptive Pill?

Hi I recently had unprotected sex and the next day took a contraceptive Called evital in the Dominican Republic about a week after taking it I got my period but my period isn't due for another 12 days it's lasted 3 days not heavy a little light but my regular periods are semi heavy and last 4/5 days is this spotting or did my period come ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Early bleeding or spotting you had must be breakthrough bleeding due to intake of a emergency contraceptive pill such as evital. The bleeding is different than your period, It is lighter in colour & quantity and last for less time period, as compared to a normal menstrual period. This type of bleeding occur normally with in 3 weeks of the pill intake. This is normal feature of pill & there is nothing to be worried about. You could also have your period delayed.
Use condom or regular contraceptive pill as method of conception in future. Taking more emergency contraceptive pills can cause problems like irregular periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility.

If problem persists consult a gynaecologist
