What Causes Early Periods Along With Clotting?

Hey I am 24 yrs old and for a long as I can remember my cycle has been 31 to 55 days long. This month it was only 27 days long. This never happened before. I thought it was implantation bleeding but the bleeding includes a small amount of clotting. I m so confused what should I do.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There can be various causes of early periods with clotting at 24 years age such as:
- Hormone imbalance
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Insulin resistance
- Obesity
- Pituitary or hypothalamus disorders
- Other endocrine conditions

Kindly get an ultrasound of the pelvis with prescription of your doctor for best possible cause evaluation and further guidelines.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
