Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking Aleve almost every evening for several weeks. I also have eczema and have been having alot of flare ups - currently on my arms and chest. It has been suggested that this may be a reaction to Aleve. I had a similar flare 20 years ago to an asprin related med when being treated for TMJ. Could this be an allergic reaction to Aleve???

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nureini's Response
Hi dear,
Based on your symptoms I suspect that you have allergy to Aleve (Naproxen), and since you had similar flare with Aspirin related medicine then you might have an allergy to all NSAIDs drugs, Aspirin and Aleve (Naproxen) are both in same group of drugs.
You haven't mentioned the reason you were prescribed Aleve and the dosage given so i can give you an alternative treatment drug.
Overall, I suggest that you discuss with your doctor for possibility of allergy to NSAIDs, the Doctor will check your skin condition and ask you of history of having similar condition with other drugs, if an allergic reaction to the drug is suspected then you will be given an alternative drug such as Tramadol..
Hope this helped.
Wish you all the best
