Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have had ukr here months ago. Just had MRI and X-ray for continuing pain and swelling on opposite side of same knee. Report said 'moderate effusion and small medial tear of medial meniscus not previously noted in prior scans. No other abnormalities.' What causes moderate effusion?
Meniscus injury can be managed by arthroscopic repair, and same day you can go home. As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG andTENS.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
