What Causes Electric Shock Sensation In The Upper Thighs?
Hello, I am writing on behalf of my uncle who is about 50 years . Apparently my uncle is getting small electric shock sensation (lasts about 5 seconds) in the upper thigh, he does not experience any sort of pain. the shocks do not spread, they usually occur on the medial side of the thighs. I have tried researching about what that could be, but I was not able to find a answer that would answer my question.
His symptoms are suggestive of a pinched nerve, possible femoral nerve. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist fora physical exam and performing a lumbar spine X-ray study and nerve conduction study.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
