What Causes Electric Shock Waves Like Feeling Around Chest Post Angioplasty?

My husband who had a heart attack in mid-February this year, is experiencing feeling in his chest like little electrical shock waves across his chest. My husband is 73, diabetic, and when he had the heart attack the heart specialists immediately found the problem and needed to place a stent in his right coronary artery. Previously, in 1998, he had a stent placed, still intact, in his LAD artery. This discomfort started this afternoon, after golfing this morning and working a little around the outside of the house. It is something that he said he never experienced before. Please talk to me about this. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The feeling you have can be due to edema of tissue around chest wall, causing pressure on peripheral nerves to stimulate them. This should go away within few days. Vitamin b12 supplements would help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
