I have a sharp electrical shock feeling in my vagina. It s close to the opening of my vagina and the shocking comes in waves! It s very uncomfortable... I am already on a antibiotic for a vaginal infection and using a antifungal cream for a yeast infection.. what could be causing this and how do I get it to go away??

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

You may be suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease which may lead to inflammation lead to pain. In a few patients with a prolapsed uterus, contact with the cervix or uterus may result in what is described by the patient as 'an electric shock', 'stabbing' or 'shooting' pain.

In such cases, lumbar spondylosis or peripheral neuropathy may present like this. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Get it done examined by your gynecologist / physician and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
