What Causes Elevated A1C Levels After Using Sensodyne Tooth Paste?
Recently went to Dentist, he put a paste on a very sensitive tooth with receded gum. Gave me two different toothpastes to use at night. One with sodium fluoride in it, which is some stronger than Sensodyne and another stronger one with an ingredient made from Milk casein which you do not rinse out, just brush and spit. I used the stronger on for a week and then switched to the lesser one at night. I still use the Sensodyne in the morning. Oddly my A1C went up. I believe that these pastes caused this. What is your opinion ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain rise in HbA1c levels after using desensitizing paste does not seems to be due to use of the pastes but can be due to some disturbances in the insulin levels of the body leading to rise in blood sugar levels. You should consult a Diabetologist and get evaluated and if required he can advise you to take oral-hypoglycemic drugs to reduce blood glucose levels and also advise you to do dietary modifications like curb down on refined sugars and carbohydrates, take more of fibres in diet and do moderate exercise.. Drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
