What Causes Elevated BP?

My bp last night was 201/124. With squeezing chest pain, radiating to my jaw & sweating. Called ems they gave me nitro several times put me on a nitro patch transported to er. Blood said no heart attack but wanted to keep me & do stress test. Everything came out normal. I'm in good shape. The doc that released me said don't know what happened see ya later. I have had before symptoms before & didn't go to the er & it went away. I asked the doc what he thought about my bp being so high he said that info wasn't in my chart. Anyway what do you recommend I do now.

See your doctor this week. An episode of chest discomfort with no apparent reason should be investigated. Blood tests and an EKG that show no heart attack now do not prove that you are not in danger. The question of your blood pressure and the need for treatment can be answered during the same evaluation.
