Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After going to the Dr. for left leg pain, I was given a D-Dimer blood test. My D-Dimer level was elevated. I was sent to the ER for a repeat D-Dimer test, which was also elevated. I was given ultrasound and CT Scan, which both were normal. I was diagnosed with elevated d-dimer, bronchitis and dehydration. I was also told that there were issues with my lungs and kidneys.

What Causes Elevated D-Dimer Level?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic D dimer can be elevated in different conditions such as inflammatory processes, trauma, liver or heart disease. The CT scan would have ruled out a clot to the lungs which is the main concern in a person with unilateral leg pain. You may need further tests to check the kidneys and lungs. I hope this helps
