What Causes Elevated ESR Count?
Hi can i ask for your advice. Recently i had a blood test done cause my stomach and lower intestine feels bloated. Also had a lower bad pain for a month. The blood test results came back with ESR of 43 mm/hr, Globulin 4 g/dl, Albumin 4.3 g/dl, Potassium 3.4 mmol/l, Uric Acid 7.8 mg/dl, Tumor maker CEA, Alpha Fetoprotein, Total PSA are normal, WBC is normal 6.5, PCV(HCT) is normal 46.8% There seems to be some infection or inflammation going on but not sure where? Will stomach bloatedness or low back pain cause ESR to be high?

Moderately elevated ESR occurs with inflammation but also with anemia, infection, pregnancy, and with aging. A very high ESR usually has an obvious cause, such as a severe infection, marked by an increase in globulins, polymyalgia rheumatica or temporal arteritis.
