Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had a spike in my cholesterol, triglycerides and my TSH was way over the high limit. My HDL is very good, above high. Would you say the likelihood of hypothyroidism causing the high fats tests is indicated and that the high HDL might indicate that my diet is ok?
Hello there. I read through your question and would like to tell you that high cholesterol levels and high TSH levels have no relation. High TSH level is due to Dysfunctioning of the thyroid gland. While high cholesterol level is due to intake of food rich in saturated fats. But you are saying that your HDL cholesterol is high which is the good cholesterol so it means that it's alright. I hope you are taking medicines for Hypothyroidism. If not consult your physician for the same. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write.
