What Causes Elevated PSA Count While On HCG Shots?

Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here... I have been taking HCG shots for the last 45 days for a diet. My PSA test came back elevated. I did a PSA test in December 2017 and it was 2.2 and in the last 90 days the PSA test has gone up to 3.2. Can HCG EFFECT PSA?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If your mom took it in pregnancy and you are a teenager then apparently yes.

And if you are a rat, then certainly yes.

Alright, while I am unable to find anything directly saying by God Yes in your particular case, the fact that case reports and animal studies certainly say yes it can strongly make me think you need to bring these to your doctor's attention and to the attention of the FDA.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
