What Causes Elevated PSA Levels Post Double Orchiectomy?

hello my dad 80 yo just got a report from his dr his psa is at 13. He has had prostrate CA since about 2008 went thu a round of radiation and three years of hormone therapy, CA free for three years and then again more hormone when it came back. a month ago he had a double orchandectomy, last week more blood work and now just today the psa has CLIMBED from 5.0 to 13. something since the orchm we are stumped. PSA may be temporarily elevated in short period after orchidectomy and tis is expected,however if this persist for more than 6 weeks postoperatively, you should do some other tests since i may indicate something more serious. You should in this case do scintigraphy and other tumor markers.
