I was given this drug by the VA to help keep my PSA level from going up. I had Prostate Cancer and had my Prostate Removed and went thur Radiation treatment. I have had a Heart Attack in December last year. I m worried that it caused the heart problem.

Hello,

You had your prostate removed and then had radiation therapy. What did the urologist tell you after you had surgery and radiation? Are you cured?

If you are cured, why would you have to take medicine? If your PSA is rising after treatment, was all of your prostate removed?

It is safer to find what is causing the continued rise in PSA and remove it then to take medication. I am not aware of any medicine that keeps the PSA level from rising.

None of the prostate treatment that you received would cause a heart problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
