What Causes Elevated SGPT/SGOT Levels In Blood With History Of Malaria?
Hi sir.. i am 26yrs old male. I had history of malaria as plasmodium vivax being diagnosed on 11th sept, 2014.. but all report till now shows normal except LFT reports. mine SGPT/SGOT on 16th sept, 2014 showed 173/175 and today 20th sept. 2014 SGPT/SGOT its showing 289/130.. i am not getting any sign symptom for jaundice and malaria too.. what could be the reason.. m worried.

SGOT and SGPT are liver enzymes which are elevated in cases of damage to liver cells or hepatocytes.
Jaundice is caused by elevated levels of bilirubin and not by elevated levels of liver enzymes.
Malarial infection caused by Plasmodium vivax can infect the liver cells or hepatocytes and thus this can lead to elevated levels of liver enzymes.
