What Causes Elevated SGPT Count After Taking Ciflo For UTI Treatment?
I a 20 years old girl and have high SGPT 320 and SGOT 36 and other liver parameters are normal. No diabetes, no cholesterol. All Hepatitis A,B and C tests and typhoid test s are showing negative. Kindly let me know why it has elevated my SGPT. I had UTI for which urine culture was done and my doctor prescribed me Ciflo. 20 days back SGPT was showing 40 and again after10 days it was tested and it was showing 117. presently taken and is 320. I do not smoke or drink. I do eat outside twice a week. Pls advise.
Hi dear..high liver enzymes is because of metabolism of ciprofloxacin in our body..process of removing involves liver..that cuses elevation but it will be for some time..within a few days it will come down normal..it's purely because of medicine..once you stop it..all will be well so be relax..meanwhile avoid high protein diet to reduce load on liver..take fluids..hope its helpful..thanks Dr.Sohil
