What Causes Elevated SGPT Count?
Recent Blood / Liver test revealed a high SGPT 53 - I am a 59.4 yr. old male .. I do social drink, cpl. beers during the week .. tad more on weekends.. would this generate a higher SGPT level.. pS. - I always give it a break (or try) from Jan.1st to Easter.. NO BEERS IN 6 WKS.. my SGOT level was a 35... ty

Your SGPT level is just a tiny bit over the normal range of 20-40. This could be just due to your drinking. As proved by the fact that it came down after you stopped drinking for 6 weeks. I wouldn't be too concerned.
