My SPGT - 82 ,SGOT -41 before after that i started liv 52 (4 tablets a day) i am doing jogging and exercise after 4 days i again checked my SGPT -112 ,i am not eating oily food or outside food . What could be the reason for increase in SGPT and how to lower it
Hello Dear. Elevated SGPT levels liver damage. Most common cause alcohol consumption. Significantly elevated levels of ALT (SGPT) often suggest the existence of other medical problems such as viral hepatitis, diabetes, congestive heart failure, liver damage, bile duct problems, infectious mononucleosis, or myopathy. Even medicines like paracetamol, statins and many other drugs may cause elevated SGPT.
The underlying cause of liver damage should be treated to lower the levels. Complete abstinence from alcohol is a must.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
