Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a Gastric Bypass approximately 9 years ago. I have been having elevated Alkaline Phosphatase of 192 or higher in the past two years. I have side pain from time to time but nothing is resolved. I also have an enlarged common bile duct with no gallbladder. There has been several attempts to do an endoscopy scope but due to scar tissue it has not been successful. The last scan did not show any stones. Now my recent bloodwork shows low protein, low vitamin D as well as the elevated Alkaline Phosphatase. Should I been concerned about any types of bone disease?
