What Causes Elevated Bilirubin Levels In An Infant?
My 11-month old grandson had an elevated bilirubin. I don t know the numbers. They retested two weeks later and the results are back to normal. His skin is still orangish yellow. Can carotene in all the baby food affect his skin color? If not, what else could it be? He is being referred to a Dermatologist.
It is a viral infection which affects the liver and give yellow color in the skin or eyes.Hepatitis A usually gets better in a few weeks without treatment. There are also vaccines which can fight hepatitis A.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
