What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels With Thyroid Disorder?

hi for the last month or so my blood pressure has been reading 158/78 on average im 24 years old they tested by thyroid for some reason could this be a cause im very fit i have been in the gym for the past year before that before school restarted i had a blood pressure of 117/75 on average for a year could stress from school cause this increase or is it related to hyperthyroidism

Yes for some unexplainable reason, thyroid hormones when imbalanced can lead to elevated blood pressure. The thyroid hormone T3 (triiodothyronine) is involved in this process, and it has both indirect and direct effects on the heart and blood vessels. Because of this, proper thyroid function is necessary for proper cardiovascular function. So if your thyroid hormones come back to normal by medications can have normal blood pressure.
