What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar Level After Receiving A Steroid Shot?

My sugar tonight went to 277 after I had a steroid shot to try and kick a bad cold and congestion. I m 63 and it s Normally between 130 and 145. Never seen it this high and the doctor warned me blood would spike...I just didn t know it would go this high. Scared me a tick, but I feel fine just haven t slept last night last night at all and still feel wired.

It's usual for sugar to increase after steroid shot due to excessive release from liver. No need to worry about it as it will come as steroid effect will wane off. Hope this helps you.
