What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar Level And Foul Smelling Urination?

I am type 2 diabetic & my blood sugar readings have increased in the last 10. Days. I also noticed a different odor to my urine. Have had bladder infections in the past but no pain or burning is apparent. Have not changed diet & bld sugar readings are 150 in the morning & drop to 120 during. It usually was 110 in the am and a1c was 6,7 in November. Any ideas ?russmo@

The recent increase in your recent increase in blood sugar readings and odor in urine definitely raises the concern of Urinary tract infection, which has to be looked for in the first place.
Moreover if a patient comes to me with your symptoms, I would like to look for diabetic ketoacidosis (which is a complication seen in diabetic patients resulting in dehydration,rising blood sugars and electrolyte disturbance),which need immediate treatment.
You will need urine tests and blood tests ,and further management depending on the results.
I recommend that you consult your doctor to get further evaluation.
