What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar Levels Along With Fatigue?

I needed to have my antidepressent changed and it took 3 weeks to get everything straigthed out, now my diabetes is out of control running from 321 in the morning on up to 400-500 + during the day. This is my question since this has started I am having trouble staying awake durning the day. I have a cpap machine I use at night but I would have to wear it constantly durning the day because I can t stay awake and when i fall asleep I wake up gasping for air. I have to chew on ice to stay awake, I use to take a nap and It did not bother me but this is kind of got me scared. I am ok at night with the cpap. Will this go away or do i need to get help. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Sorry that you are going through this.

I've read through your query and understand your concerns.
I would :
-get a detailed medical, personal and family history

-clinically examine you for any signs of neurological deficits, Thyroid enlargement in addition to a general exam.

-run some blood test(complete blood count, Thyroid profile, adrenal gland function, blood glucose levels, kidney and liver function tests, arterial blood gas analysis)

-do a sleep study to check for apnoeic, hypopnoiec events.
-a MRI of the brain if indicated

Based on this I would have a treatment plan. Please see your doctor to check for the above.
These symptoms are suggestive or either severe sleep apnea or hormone level imbalances and need to be treated immediately.

Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
