What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar Levels While On Meloxicam?
I am a diabetic and my sugar has always been in control, 105, etc but I had my sugar taken the other day and it was 168, the only different thing in my routine is I have been taken meloxicam dailey for a headache.. could this cause the rise in my sugar
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Hence, it is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. More frequently reported side effects with its use include: stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, dizziness, anemia and edema. It is not known to alter blood glucose levels.
