What Causes Elevated Elevated ESR Levels?

Hello, I am a female with ulcerative Colitis that has been in remission for 3 yrs. I have no symptoms but an elevated ESR at 39. All other general lab test are normal. I work out extensively boxing also. Is the increases ESR something I should worry about or is it more than likely inflammation due to increased physical activity?

Hi,

Increase in ESR can be due to many reasons, check CRP also if these and CBE, also deranged then might need to confirm physical to physician or send these reports, it is possible with UC to ESR raised! Learn some pranayama and yogic breathing exercises as recent research says it can prevent relapse of ulcerative collitis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
