What Causes Elevated Heart Rate And Dizziness After Stopping Metoprolol Tartrate?

I was on metoprolol tartrate 50mg twice a day, My Dr said stop taking it and I stopped taking it. the next day, my heartbeat is up to 146 and i have been dizzy all day. Should i cal my Dr or just go back to the metroprol, i don t want a heart attack.

Metaprolol is a beta-blocker which means that one of the main effects is that slows down your heart frequency. In my opinion you should have an EKG as soon as possible and possibly start again a medication to control the heart rate frequency.
