What Causes Elevated Heart Rate While Suffering From Stomach Infection?
My (adult) daughter has had some type of "stomach flu" this week. It started Tuesday. She vomited only once and had nausea and diarrhea for a few days. She had a fever of 100 when it first started and has had some headaches. She is still pretty tired but she can eat more food now and is keeping hydrated. Now her symptoms are stuffiness and a rapid heart rate of about 90 at rest. The rapid heart rate has her worried because she says she can feel her heart beating. Is this something we need to worry about?

Hi.....i read about the health issues faced by your daughter since two days.........Normal heart rate of adult human can be in the range of 60 to 100 beats per minute...so your daughter's heart rate is normal.......From your details,I can infer that she had fever ,Diarrhea,Head ache but right now she is not having any of these three problems and she is well hydrated too......so,As per my opinion,The feel of heart beat,What we call in medical terminolgy as PALPITATION might me because of ANXIOUSNESS ........Ask her to eat health food,Take rest,Everything will be ok...........If there is worsening of any of the complaints,Then meet doctor ASAP..........take care .........i wish your daughter a good health
