What Causes Elevated Heart Rate While Suffering From Tachycardia?
I was diagnosed with tachycardia with unknown reason about 2 years ago. At times my rate may be high 90 s to low 100 at rest. But today all of a sudden my heart rate shot up to 120+ and keeps fluctuating between 115 and 126 while I am at rest. should I be worried?
Tachycardia is a condition that makes your heart beat more than 100 times per minute.
Strenuous exercise, fever, fear, stress, anxiety, anaemia, overactive thyroid lot of alcohol and too much caffeine can cause increased heart rate or tachycardia.
If your heart rate is constantly increased beyond 100 beats/minute, you need to consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
