Hi, well we shall see. I just had a blood test last week, hemoglobin was high as hematocrit was hi. Should my doctor do anything about this. I looked up some of the causes like lung, heart problems, kidney, liver cancer, etc.? Should my doctor do anything about any of this?
Hello, Common causes for this are smoking or lungs problem. Also, heart disease can cause it. If you smoke then needs to stop this and hemoglobin come to normal, if not then you should visit hospital for exact diagnosis of heart and lungs condition. You need to drink plenty of water till hemoglobin normalizes. Also, avoid long time sitting at one place like long air travel. Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
