What Causes Elevated Ketones Level In Urine?
Hi, Presence of excess amount of ketone in the urine is known as ketonuria. Ketonuria may result from some underlying conditions like DM, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, alcohol consumption, starvation, pregnancy, ketoacidosis, presence of infection, excessive vomiting, physical trauma, corticosteroids, diuretics, heart attacks, emotional stress, medications, pow carbohydrate diet, chronic diarrhea, strenous exercise, high fever, hyperthyroidism etc. Drinking plenty of water and strictly controlling of blood sugar levels may help to reduce the amount of ketone in the urine. Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me Know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician,
