What Causes Elevated Levels Of ALT And AST Along With Dizzy Spells?
My boyfriend is a 47 yr old and just found out he has hep c - not a drug user, he is a social drinker, not daily or even weekly. He went to ER 8 days ago and his ALT/AST were in the 300-400s with bilirubin at +2.0 He was going to be admitted but then his CT scan was normal. They scheduled an ultrasound which was done Tuesday. Liver and pancreas were in normal range. Small polyp in gallbladder with slight wall thickening at 4mm. He is slightly jaundiced, has lost weight, has intense skin itching with spots similar to chicken pocks (pruritis) he has trouble digesting foods, nausea, and is having dizzy spells. Lots of weight loss and he can t afford it at 5 5 160 pounds. He had extreme dizziness today. He left work early and he never does that. Said he feels less dizzy but feels weird He is hesitant to go to ER at a different hospital bc they did nothing before. Please advise! Should he go back?
Hello, Hepatitis c is a liver infection transmitted by blood. AST AND ALT are also liver enzymes which levels get increased in liver diseases. All problem is because of hep c infection. I will advice to see physician and start treatment as early as possible.
