Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having sever back stabbing type pain when sleeping turning over, getting up from chairs etc. Quick jab and then gone. I have been on pravastatin for a couple of years andI recently was told my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. AST 75 ALT 125. I am seeing the Dr next week but researching as much as I can prior to visit.
Following can be causes for mild elevation of liver enzymes..... -Obesity induced fatty liver -NAHS -alcohol liver disease -Drug induced -Gall stone -hbsag positive
In your case reason seems to be drug induce elevation of liver enzymes
The prescribed drug for high cholesterol can lead liver enzymes elevation in few patient
So if needed dose can be adjusted accordingly and regular monitoring of liver profile needed
USG abdomen also can be done in your case to exclude fatty liver
Hope I have solved your query
Take care
