What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes In A Person Suffering From Flu?
My husband was admitted Sun evening because of the flu, dehydration, heart rate high and high fever...they have been administering fluids every 2 hours. He s a type 2 diabetic and has high blood pressure.His vitals are normal, Ekg was normal..no signs of heart issues. Some damage to kidneys but not serious...now here s the problem..His enzymes are in the 6000 s....the nurse said it s possible to have elevated enzymes if your a person who works out strenuously. My husband has been coughing extremely hard since Friday..she said it could be possible that the coughing is causing the enzymes to rise. I personally never heard this. Is it possible? his fever is running now around 99-100 on Tamiflu, antibiotics and his normal doze of meds for diabetes and blood pressure.

liver function test can be done. he has got multiple problem including hypertension and diabetes. enough causes for elevated liver enzyme nurse says coughing can increase liver enzyme is not true.what was the reason of giving tamiflu. it is specifically Ment for avian flu. it can be side effect of drugs. give drugs when it is prescribed by doctor, specialy when he is suffering from multiple disease. general checkup should be done. what about his habit of taking alcohol. examine for taking hepato toxic drugs.
