What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes While Suffering From Flu?
Hi i am an adult man of 41 years. I hsve done blood tests and my AST level was 35 and ALT of 47. I have done the test while suffering from flu and bronchitis. I was also taking natural flu treatment of enchina and ipurophen. Could the slight increase be because of the medication? Thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. It appears from the report you have furnished that the liver enzymes AST and ALT levels are marginally increased. This could be due to possible because of viral infection itself as well as medication intake causing mild hepatic dysfunction. However, there is noting much to worry about it at this stage. It would return back to normal with intake of nutritious foods. Kindly avoid intake of junk food and foods rich in fats. Improve your intake of foods rich in vitamins and minerals. Strictly avoid intake of alcohol and smoking, if you are habituated to. You may repeat the test again after a period of 3 months to know the status. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
