Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had low potassium on Saturday...2.4 and was hospitalized...it was already affecting my EKG. My magnesium was also low. I saw my dr. yesterday and while my potassium and magnesium are now fine, the dr. said my liver enzymes are elevated. He is sending me for an ultrasound. I don t drink and I don t take anything like Tylenol. What could be possible causes for elevated liver enzymes?
Thanks for asking at healthcare magic. There can be a number of reasons for elevated liver enzymes like acute or chronic viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, certain storage diseases, etc. Ultrasound will further aid in reaching the diagnosis. Since I don't know your symptoms, I cannot comment on your differential diagnoses.
