Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor, for about two months I have had problems with my bowels. They have slowed down, and I was experiencing constipation. I eat healthily and was active. The past three weeks the symptoms have worsened. I have had a CT scan done and an MRI along with blood work and also a colonoscopy. The CT scan, MRI, and Colonoscopy all came back negative. The only thing that was abnormal was my liver enzymes in the blood. They were elevated, over the course of a week they did improve but were still above averages. I believe this was because for a week I had a liquid only diet of soups and smoothies, which really helped my stomach and made me feel normal again. When I attempt to eat solids I feel overly full and like I need to defecate, but my bowels don t come out easily. I have no clue what could be the problem.
Mild elevation of liver enzymes need not be worried about as it could be a simple viral illness also which you might not even have observed or had fever. We need to worry only if the liver enzymes are elevated in hundreds or in thousands. May I know what are your Liver enzyme levels so that I can get back to you with some more questions seeking some information?
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
