What Causes Elevated Neutrophil Count In The Blood?

around October this year, I went to the hospital for what appeared to be a stomach virus or food poisoning? I was very nauseated, vomited a little and mild diarrhea, but feeling drained and chills. Blood work was concerning to me .My neutrophils were 9.9 then in Manual one was 9.3 and lymphocytes were low 3 but WBC was normal? BUN/Creatine were low but only slightly. What could make my neutrophils that high? The hospital let me go never said a word about it and I m sure copies were sent to my primary doctor. I never got called back from them. Just concerned because that seems high

High neutrophil count is seen in patients with infection and inflammation if you had fever and has settled now possibly your neutrophil count will be normal now as you have no symptoms of infection at present
