What Causes Elevated Platelet And White Blood Cell Counts?

My 23 year old daughter had blood work done and her white blood cell count and platelette count is high, the general doctor is telling her to go see a blood specialist. We live in Texas and she is always congested, is the blood doctor the correct person to start with?

23 yrs old with elevated cbc platelet cbc is high indicates infection or autoimmune or bone marrow prblms .. nd high platelets thrombocytosis is related to bonemarrow problems do bone marrow cytology to rule out autoimmune or bone marrow problem
