What Causes Elevated Red Blood Cell Count?
Hi I just got my blood work back from Quest! It shows my Red count High at 5.45 so I m concerned with that along with my platelet count is 415 high, normal is 400. Absolute Esinophils is 0. I m 52 and healthy however have had symptoms over the past 5 years similar to rheumatoid arthritis in my hand with no joint damage. Was taking Xeljanz but have stopped since i had cortizone injections 4/12/17 so currently npt on anything. Should I be concerned with the results?

Your red blood cell and platelet counts are ok. It may vary according to the smoking history, high attitude living or athletes etc.
You may continue steroid injections but better to take DMARDs also.
