Hello i m 24 years old girl and i m not alcholic my sgot level is 180 and sgpt is more than 200 what is the reason for that much high level? bilirubin was also high but now its nroml range but sgot n sgpt is high i have pain in upper abdomin sometime very high pain..what i vl do for get well..
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. There are many reasons for elevated SGOT, SGPT and Billirubin. These all are liver enzymes which may be elevated due to liver damage due to alcohol, infection and wide range of medications. I a girl with similar complaints comes to my clinic I would like to ask her about any long term medication history or high dose of any medication or blood transfusion history in recent past. Chronic hepatitis B and C infection and gall bledder disease can also cause rise in liver enzymes. In some people elevated levels are found without any underlying cause or condition. So I advice you to consult your doctor and have blood investigation for hepatitis, Ultra sound of abdomen done. Exact diagnosis can be made after it. Further management depends upon it. Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care. Thank you.
