What Causes Elevated Sugar Levels Despite Being On Healthy Diet And Metformin?

Yes please..... 9 Months ago, I was told that I have diabetes. I usually am a healthy eater, but I do eat junk food as well but not on a daily basis. i have given up sugar in my coffee,(4 cups a day), cookies Ice cream, and cakes, no soda. and of course no candy. I was never a sugar person, more a chips and dip person. i have been taking metformin for 9 months, and I really dont see much of a drop in my sugar. What more can I do. i do eat 9 veggies and two fresh fruits a day, with seeds and nuts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Try reducing your coffee to 2 cups a day and go for diet rich in fibers and proteins. You have to reduce junk food as well from your diet. Have milk, eggs, pulses, more than your usual diet and cut off carbs like rice from your diet. It might help you.
