What Causes Elevated Thyroid Levels During Pregnancy?
My wife is pregnant and having thyroid level high. Taking the Thyrocare dose. Weight is very low and omitting continue after 17 weeks. After receiving the TT injection, she met with very high fever followed by shivering continuously after repeated intervals, two days are over, still it is. What should we do?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
1. In pregnant women till the baby develops thyroid gland from mother the thyroid harmone will go to the baby and help him till they develop complete gland and that is the reason the demand in the pregnant women for thyroid harmone is high.
2.For fever if it is not controlled by simple paracetamol she may need antibiotic treatment by your treating doctor as we cannot give any antibiotic to her, safe antibiotic treatment is needed at this stage.
Please have a complete blood test done and consult your doctor with the report.
Regards, Dr.Alekhya.
